Kaliningrad is a seaport and the administrative center of Kaliningrad Oblast. Originally named Königsberg, the Prussian and German town had been founded in 1255. Königsberg Cathedral is a Brick Gothic style building on an island in the Pregel. The city is famous of being home for Immanuel Kant (German philosopher).
