These frontiersmen posed outside the cabin of S. J. Roberts (probably the man standing). The others sit on the top in the doorway, one playing a fiddle, the other holding a fife. These log cabins were cold and drafty in winter, hot in summer. Photographed in 1893 by William J. Gillen.
